Tsougria Island

Tsougria Island is an uninhabited island to the south of Skiathos Town. It does, however, have a beach and taverna for visitors to the island. You can get to Tsougria on a boat on from Skiathos Town harbour. The trip is around 10 Euros return and is worth every penny.

The beach is popular with travellers to Skiathos as it is normally quiet as it is hard to get to. The beach also has shallow waters so you can walk out surprisingly far. The taverna, which is open in high season serves all things you would expect. Light snacks, drinks and meals. There is also a second beach you can get to by venturing through the pines to the south. Whilst this beach is not as pretty as the first it is worth checking out, especially if the main beach happens to be busy.

Once you arrive on the island, the boat will leave you. Boats come at 4, 5 and 6 pm to take the you back to Skiathos Town.

Tsougria Island is a great day trip, especially for a family. The kids will just love the shallow waters and golden sands.

  1. Maybe you can tell something on the site about the Skiathos dog shelter in the mountains. ..it’s a non profit organisation where you can go from 9.00 till 13.00 and walk the dogs or buy some gifts to help the funding of the shelter and maybe hone a doggy or cat.. ( most of them are getting homed to scandinavia and the uk..)

    1. Hi Petra, Thank you for your comment. The dog shelter is a fantastic charity that have done a great deal for the island and for the dogs of Skiathos. I have an article about the shelter which can be found here.

I am always keen to improve the content I put on the website to give the best information, so if you have any ideas on how to improve this post, please email me on info@loveskiathos.co.uk
